In the morning we went on a guided tour of the Orangerie Museum which houses Monet's famous Water Lilies.  The two previous times I had been to Paris, this Museum was under construction so this was a special treat for me. It's hard to imagine how massive these paintings are and how incredibly beautiful.  Even if you don't like Impressionism, you can't help but feel warmed by all of the colors.  No photos of the Water Lillies were allowed but this is a museum worth seeing.  The Orangerie includes many other great works as well from artists such as Picasso and Modigliani.   Don't forget to enjoy the Tuilleries Gardens while you are there.

THE MASTERPIECES OF PARIS

After the Orangerie, we had free time to explore other "Masterpieces" of Paris. We decided to go to the Musee d'Orsay, then over to Napoleon's Tomb, and finally the Musee de l'Armee at the Hotel National des Invalides.  The Musee de l'Armee was especially interesting to us because we were heading to Normandy after our Paris tour.
